UP Police SI Recruitment 2011

Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and promotion Board has published notification for the direct recruitment of Sub Inspectors and Platoon Commanders in the pay band of Rs. 9300 to Rs. 34800 (Grade Pay- 4200). Brief information about the recruitment is following:
Posts and Number of Vacancies:
Sub Inspector- 3698 (1849 General, 998 OBC, 777 SC, 74 ST)
Platoon Commander- 312 (156 General, 84 OBC, 66 SC, 6 ST)
Eligibility (Education and Age)
Education- Graduation Degree from a recognized university.
Age- 21 to 28 years (Candidates must be born between 2nd July 1983 to 1st July 1990). Concession in age for SC/ST/OBC/Female candidates of Uttar Pradesh according to the rules of the state government.
Selection Process:
Physical Measurement- Male candidates must be 168 cm in height and chest of 79 cm with minimum 5cm expanison. Candidates belonging to ST category must be 160 cm in height, chest should be 77cm with 5cm expansion. In case of female candidates height should be 152 cm. Those female candidates who are of ST category should be 147 cm in height.
Preliminary Written Exam- Those who qualify in the Physical Measurement Exam will appear in the preliminary written exams which will consist of following parts:
1. General Studies- 100 marks
2. Numerical Aptitude- 50 marks
3. Reasoning- 50 marks
Candidates would have to qualify the exam with minimum 50 percent marks.
Physical Efficiency Test- Those candidates who qualify the Preliminary Test will have to appear in the physical efficiency test. In case of male candidates they will be required to complete the run of 10 Kms in 60 minutes and in case female candidates they will have to complete the run of 5 Kms in 35 minutes.
Mains Exam: Candidates who qualify in the PET exams will have to appear in the test consiting of following subjects:
1. Hindi- 75 marks
2. Constitution- 100 marks
3. Numerical and Mental Aptitude- 100 marks
4. Reasoning- 100 marks
Group Discussion- Mains exam will be followed by GD of 20 marks.
Application Process: Application Form and Instruction Kit is available at the main post offices (List of Post Offices) of the districts in the state of Uttar Pradesh. Candidates are required to purchase the application forms fill it up according to the instructions and submit at the same post office. In any case the UP Police Recruitment and Promotion Board would not accept the form directly. Last date of application sales from the designated post offices is 25th June 2011.
