Indian Railway has published centralised job notification for various jobs in various Railway Recruitment Boards. The exams are going to commence from 6th June, 2010 with the centralised exam of Loco Pilot. After that the exam of Assistant Station Master is going to take place. There are sections in the society who are against the centralisation of Railway jobs. According to them this limits the scope of job opportunities for the applicants. Job seekers are confined to apply in one region only, as the exam for a specific post will take place on same date. There is another group in state like Maharashtra which wants selection of regional candidates only.
Indian Railway each year employs good number of people so it has become hot sector for minting money by the middle men. Many innocent applicants have become the victim of these crooks and middle men in hope to get the job. The fact is that even many railway employees and staffs in the Railway Ministry were caught red handed in job rackets. This was the main reason behind the change in the pattern of organising the railway exams.
