Indian Idol 5 is special because of many reasons. One of the main reason is that in the Gala round this year in Indian Idol Judges have selected 13 contestants against 12 for the finals. The Indian Idol took its U turn when at the last moment Anu Malik was not able to stop himself from changing the rules, after the performance given by Yashraj.He was spellbound by his performance and so decided to select him as the 13th contestant. The name of total 13 contenders are following:
Swaroop Khan,Vishwas Rai,Sashi Suman, Bhumi Trivedi, Manisha Karmakar, Tia Kar, Naushad Ali Kawa,Shivam Pathak, Shreeramchandra,Meghna Kumar, Rakesh Maini, Arpita Khan and Yashraj Kapil.
