Fake and Cheat Universities in India How to verify and Identify

Right now Education industry in India is growing in leaps and bounds. Especially professional education has seen tremendous growth in recent years. Commercialization of education has reached such kind of nadir that institutes and universities are not hesitant in spending exorbitant amount of money on advertisement. These advertisements often influence the mind of the students who want to join higher education to secure a bright future. Some times students commit the blunder of believing in the false claims of the below par universities and institutes. There is a common notion in the mind of parents and students that if an institute or university is recognized by UGC , AICTE or any other government body it has to be good.

Judging the quality of the institute on the basis of recognition by AICTE / UGC is not a very good idea. There are scores of institutes which are recognized by UGC / AICTE to offer professional courses in India. Most of them are below par and run with the sole motive of making money at any cost and for that they can stoop to any level which includes roping in prominent political leaders, actors, and businessmen to promote their brand.  Some of these institutes are smart enough to invite eminent scholars and speakers to their premises to deliver lectures. More than often these scholars are either paid for their speeches and lectures or sometimes duped by the money minded promoters of the institutes to render their services free of cost.

Most of the time these institutes promote the tour lectures of eminent scholars. More than often they try portray that the visiting scholars are visiting faculty members.

Institutes / Universities often claim their students are getting very high salary placement and this often attracts the people from middle class and lower middle class who are thunderstruck with the idea that education can open the gate of secret treasure for them. However, the same institutes shamelessly get away without any real placement for their students and those who are placed, are compelled to work in low salary jobs. It is very common to find MBA degree holders of these institutes who are working as entry level executives for salary package between Rs 10000 to Rs20000. Nowadays, even a 10+2 pass working in an international BPO earns more than that and not to forget that clerks working with the government for more than 5 years are also earning more than what these unscrupulous institutes can get for their students (check out the salary package after the sixth pay commission).
