Peon or BPO Executive- Which is better

The changes brought by sixth pay commission are an eye opener for educated English speaking youths who are working in low profile BPOs and Call Centers. After the recent salary change, any peon in a government having experience of 5 years earns around Rs. 12000 per month in a metro city. While, youngsters working in BPO make around Rs. 8000 to Rs. 20000 after experience of 3 to 5 years. The salary is still higher in comparison of a government peon but if you add the factors of uncertainty, negative effect on health, job insecurity, frequent conferences in midnight, job switching- the job of peon may appear more attractive. Its high time when the BPOs which spend millions on their buildings start investing on their employees otherwise the declining number of BPO job aspirants might become a great problem adding further to their woes.
