The panel of Ministry of Human Resource Development has recommended a new format for IIT JEE. In the new format only selected candidates would be allowed to appear in the IIT JEE exams. The selection of candidates for the JEE exam would be done on the basis of marks in 10 + 2 and aptitude test which would be conducted more than once in a year. The weightage of 10+2 marks would be 70 percent while for the aptitude test weightage would be 30 percent. Ony 40000 candidates selected on the basis of gross score in  10 +2 exam and aptitude test would get opportunity to compete in the main IIT exam which would be conducted in June every year. Candidates will get more than one opportunity to better their score in the aptitude test. Only the best score in the aptitude test would be counted during the preparation of list for the mains exam of JEE.
