Indian Railway regularly advertises for the jobs of Loco Pilots through its Railway Recruitment Board across India. One of the new concepts that have been introduced during the tenure of Railway Minister Mamta Banerjee is Centralized Recruitment Process, so it is impossible for the candidates to appear for vacancies for more than one recruitment board. So right from the beginning, candidates need to make sure from which Railway Recruitment they want to apply. As far as education qualification is concerned candidate must have completed ITI from NCVT / NCBT recognized institute in following traits:
- Fitter
- Electricians
- Instrument Mechanic
- Mill Right / Maintenance Mechanic
- Radio and TV Mechanic
- Electro Mechanic
- Motor Vehicle Mechanic
- Wiremen
- Tractor Mechanic
- Armature and Coil Binder
- Diesel Mechanic
- Heat Engine
- Turner
- Machinist
- Refrigeration and Air Condition
Candidates having 3 years Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics / Automobile Engineering are also eligible to apply for the post of Loco Pilot.
Examination Plan consists of Papers of written exam, aptitude test and document verification. The age of candidates should be between 18 to 30 years.
