English not Compulsory for Bank of India PO Exams, Reasons and Impact

Probably it is the first time in the history of Banking Exams that in the exam meant  for the selection of Bank Probationary Officer, candidates are not required to pass the English test. Although, the final score in most of the PSU Bank PO exams never includes the marks of English and candidates are only required to pass the exams. But now even getting pass marks is not required in the Bank of India Exams and candidates can opt for vernacular language instead of English.

This is a right step by the Bank considering the fact that nowadays, Bank PO job offers limited growth prospects as most of the higher jobs  in the PSU Banks are filled by MBA degree holders. Limited prospects of the Bank PO job is not able to attract the English speaking youth of Metro cities and even if they join, most of the time they leave the job for better prospects in private sector Banks. However, Hindi or vernacular language speaking officers can be reliable human resource as they have very little tendency of switching over the jobs.
