Earthquake in India at Karad Maharashtra at 5.21 pm
Earthquake of around 5. 1 richter scale was felt in the region of Karad in Maharashtra on 12th December 2009, at around 5. 21 pm evening time. Right now there is not any information on any sort of damage that took place in the region. From the news sources it is confirmed that there was disruption in the services of Konkan Raiways and trains were stopped for sometime. The jolts of earthquake were felt for more that 2 minutes. One of the major concern is that this area also includes one of the major dam projects of India. Although, any scale of damage on Koyana dam is not reported by news sources
