Education has become an enterprise for the societies and individuals who are involved in running the institutes and universities. However, the greed of money that we see in private institutes seems to be justified as most of them are run by people who invested their money for initiating their business. Most of the privately institutes are providing full time education to their students, which are recognized and approved by the employers from public sector as well as private sector.
But it is really ironical that the government funded universities are involved in providing professional qualifications through correspondence education. Frankly speaking most of the recruiters specially PSU’s like BSNL, NTPC, ONGC etc. always demand full time MBA qualification. Even candidates having work experience and part time MBA are not considered at par with full time MBA qualification. It is highly questionable education policy as these professional qualifications are not valued by the recruiters from the government owned PSUs and expecting any kind of leniency from blue chip companies from private sector would be sheer stupidity. Although, private sector has always got offers in lower rung jobs in Call Centers, Sales and Insurance; where Correspondence MBA degree holders rub their shoulders at work place with college fresher and under graduates. Most of these jobs have little long term value and the correspondence MBA degree holders end up getting frustrated with the job market.
As long as your correspondence education is not costing you much it is absolutely okay to continue with it. But to the chagrin of students there are study centers of these correspondence courses which take very high amount of fees in providing tuitions and special training for the professional courses like MBA, MCA, BBA, MSc (IT), BSc (IT), BIT, MIT etc. Even these extra classes can’t add any real value to the correspondence degree and more than likely your money gets flushed into the sewerage of unholy cobweb of illusion created by the illicit complicity of study centers and correspondence course providing institutions or universities.
As far as pure par time courses in Management are concerned they are okay as long as they expect you in job. But there are many crooks that are running part time courses where everybody is welcome to join any time. Don’t join part time courses which are not having any pre condition of employment and eligibility norms for admitting the students.
