Coal India Limited (CIL) will launch a “special” scholarship scheme in 2010-11 for 100 meritorious students from the below poverty line. These students will also get offer of working as managemet trainee in the company after completion of the studies. Coal india is also planning to offer another 25 scholarships to students whose lands were acquired by the company and who are left with no other option to earn regularly.
The scholoarship would be offered for studying courses at government engineering and medical colleges, IITs and NITs,. It will also include expenditure of accommodation at hostels, he added. It is expected that the details of the scholarship would be published in the leading news papers.
