The trio of yadava leaders Mulayam Singh , Laloo Prasad and Sharad Yadav have been demanding caste based census after a gap of 79 years. It doesn’t require rocket science to concur that caste based census would be the first step in increasing the quota limit from existing 50 percent to around 60-80 percent. Right now barring the defence services almost all other services in state government and central government departments, PSU etc. have provision of around 49 percent reservation.
As far as indications are concerned the deadly trio of yadava leaders were quite upbeat after meeting Sonia Gandhi and they are expecting that she would comply with their demand. One should not forget that still OBC, ST and SC people in this country are living their life in the darkness of utter poverty, lack of basic amenities in their life coupled with lower quality education puts them at disadvantage against their peers from upper caste, who have consistently shown excellence in almost all the aspects of life just because of their superior family background. It’s quite amazing that defence forces which can be defined as seat of empowerment are not giving reservation to SC, ST and OBC candidates.
